The Valley of Yeshen series is best described as an epic fantasy adventure following the adventures of a band of warriors.   

The first season follows their first quest together in which they must make the perilous journey through enemy territory to find a sacred herb that will save their priest-king and inadvertently start a war in the process. When the warriors are ambushed, the quest quickly falls apart, and they must find their way back home with their enemy on their heels. 

The subsequent seasons follow the small band of warriors during the war and their further adventures.
